What should I wear to Pointe dance class?
For Pointe classes at Tap ’n Arts Dance Studio, we want every dancer to feel comfortable, confident, and ready to progress! Students are required to wear appropriate Ballet shoes or Pointe shoes as directed by their instructor. Pointe shoes should only be worn once dancers have been properly assessed and approved for Pointe work. Only clean, non-marking dance shoes are permitted on the studio floor—outdoor shoes are not allowed.
Dancers should wear comfortable, fitted dancewear that allows instructors to clearly see alignment, posture, and technique, such as leotards, tights, leggings, fitted tops, or other studio-appropriate clothing. Tap ’n Arts Dance Studio spirit wear is always welcome when appropriate for movement and instruction! Please avoid denim, skirts, dresses, or loose-fitting clothing that could restrict movement or make it difficult to safely evaluate technique. For safety reasons, jewelry—including necklaces, bracelets, watches, and large earrings—is not permitted. Hair should be securely pulled back and away from the face for every class so dancers can move freely and safely.
Our dress code reflects industry best practices and helps create a safe, comfortable learning environment where dancers can focus on developing Pointe technique, building strength and confidence, expressing artistry, and continuing to grow in their Ballet and Pointe training.
