No. You do not need any previous dance experience to join our Contemporary classes at Tap ’n Arts Dance Studio. Our program welcomes children and teens ages 3 to 18, from complete beginners to dancers with prior experience.

Classes are organized by age and skill level, ensuring every student feels comfortable, supported, and appropriately challenged. Whether your child is taking their very first Contemporary class or looking to develop their technique and performance skills, our experienced instructors create a positive, encouraging environment where every dancer can build confidence, improve coordination, express themselves, and enjoy learning.

For Contemporary classes at Tap ’n Arts Dance Studio, we want every dancer to feel comfortable, confident, and ready to move! Students are required to wear appropriate Contemporary shoes, which can be purchased directly from the studio, or you may choose a similar style and color from another retailer. Only clean, non-marking dance shoes are permitted on the studio floor-outdoor shoes are not allowed.

Dancers should wear comfortable, breathable dancewear that allows for full movement, such as leotards, leggings, fitted tops, athletic wear, or other studio-appropriate clothing. Tap ’n Arts Dance Studio spirit wear is always welcome! Please avoid denim, skirts, dresses, or loose-fitting clothing that could restrict movement or create a safety hazard. For safety reasons, jewelry—including necklaces, bracelets, watches, and large earrings-is not permitted. Hair should be securely pulled back and away from the face for every class so dancers can move freely and safely.
